Figurative Language

Today Team Wilkinson began looking at an author's use of figurative language in detail.   Today, we were introduced to new vocabulary and then worked as a table to share examples from our independent reading!!!   Take a look at all the examples we created in such a short time today during Workshop!!!!

Tomorrow we look specifically at personification and use this as a basis for a new narrative!  Check out our thinking:

Reader's Theater!!!

Last week, Team Wilkinson learned the elements of a drama and how to use these elements to identify a literary text.  Then, they were broken into 3 casts and practiced scripts to present to the class, and even some of our family members.

Here are the videos of each group's performance in case you were not able to join us.  I recommend turning your speakers all the way up....some of us are more quiet public speakers than others :)

Cast 1 - "Caribou Man" (Adelle, Donovan, Alyssa, Nolan, Austin, Gavin T, Gavin R and Reagan)
Cast 2 - "Treasure in Puget Sound" (Eva, Triniti, Max, Elizabeth, Alexander, Lilly, Ty, Jeremy)
Cast 3 - "The Old Woman and the Ring" (Nathan, Zach, Caden, Abby, Matthew, Tommy, Emily)

Over the next few weeks, we will also present our Reader's Theater's to our Reading Buddies in Mrs. Beatty's class.  We really appreciate our visitors coming to see how hard we worked!   I hope you enjoy these videos!
