Thank you parents for your dedication to your child this year; we appreciate all the answered questions, packed lunches, gentle reminders to bring home notebooks or textbooks, and encouraging words. We were honored to have you as our guests for our Picnic on Wednesday!!

Truss Bridges!

Students in Mr. Treacy's math group this unit presented their Truss Bridge today, combining their mastery of Geometry with new learning in engineering, design and construction practices.  Students designed their own bridge and then tested its efficiency using a suspended weight...way to go kiddos!!

Geometry City

Team Wilkinson is loving the collaborative environment that "Geometry City" has provided us!!!   Check us out hard at work designing our own town, applying all our geometry knowledge in one piece:

BLUBBER!!!

Some things are worth waiting for..."Blubber", for example!!   Team Wilkinson was rewarded for awesome testing stamina, positive attitudes and great attendance today with a hands-on learning experience that was unfortunately shelved as a result of too many Snow Days.  I imagine a request to visit the grocery store is inevitable, so they can show you themselves!

Ask your child how the glove was made, used and what connections it has to our units of study!!

Three cheers for Donovan for being a Master Sharpener over the last 2 days for Team Wilkinson and the Art Room.  Never underestimate the power of a perfectly sharpened pencil during KPrep :)

20 Book Challenge...check!

Congrats to these readers, who completed the 20 Book Challenge this year!!   Students independently read 20 chapter books from varying genres and submitted a written summary of their reading. 

As fifth graders, your child may also participate in the 20 Book Challenge in preparation for the 40 Book Challenge in Middle School :)
